How do I enter?
Simply email entries along with a signed copy of our Design brief and competition rules to medalcompetition@royalmintmuseum.org.uk, or post them to:

You must include a signed copy of our design brief and competition rules with your entry.
Do I have to pay to enter?
No, entry is completely free.
Who can enter?
The competition is open to university undergraduates of 18 years of age or older and recent graduates whose course ended in the last two years. Please note that those directly involved in organising the competition and members of staff employed by The Royal Mint will not be entitled to enter.
Can designs be submitted by more than one person?
No, you can only enter your own design.
Can I submit more than one design?
There is no limit to the number of designs that may be submitted.
What is the prize?
The winner will receive a cheque for £5,000 and a 63mm toned bronze medal featuring their design.
Will my details be stored or used?
We will only use your details to contact you if you are selected for the shortlist and no data will be collected for any purpose other than that relating to the competition. Details of the winning entrant, such as name, age, university and photograph will be shared publicly with the press and on our website along with the winning entry.
Where can I find more information about the Platinum Jubilee?

How will the winner be decided?
All the designs will be inspected by a judging panel comprising Dr Kevin Clancy, Director of The Royal Mint Museum, Lee Jones, Product Design Lead at The Royal Mint and celebrated artist Hughie O'Donoghue RA. Entries will be judged anonymously and to ensure impartiality, students are asked not to include any initials or identifying marks on their designs, but normally the winning artist will later be allowed to add his or her initials if desired.
How will I be notified if I win?
If you are shortlisted to receive a prize, we will contact you via the email you provided with your submission unless you specify that you would like us to contact you differently.
What will happen if I win?
There will be a medal presentation at a time convenient to all parties and in compliance with relevant COVID restrictions. Photographs and a press release will be sent out to news agencies across the UK and used on our social media channels.
