Sustainable Futures Short-Story Competition

Based around the topic of 'Sustainable Futures', the Royal Mint Museum hosted a short-story competition open to all age 8 - 11 children in the United Kingdom.

8-year-old Myra Saindane won first prize for her story ‘Myra’s Green Awakening’. Her story, about how a trip to India inspired a sustainability mission, was chosen by our judge, presenter and broadcaster, Michaela Strachan.

Myra won a set of coins for herself and £5,000 worth of equipment and books for her school library. As part of her prize, her story was illustrated by guest artist Bronwen James.

You can find all of the winning stories below.
