Crossing Continents Short-Story Competition

Inspired by the 75th anniversary of the arrival of Empire Windrush, the Royal Mint Museum hosted a short-story competition open to primary school pupils in the United Kingdom.

Our guest judge was celebrated children’s author Onjali Q. Raúf. Onjali selected 10-year-old Muduo Wang’s charming story ‘M’. Muduo’s story follows the adventures of an old Chinese coin. He won a set of coins for himself, his story was illustrated by guest artist Chanté Timothy and he won £5,000 worth of equipment and books for his school library.
