Design a coin
When creating a new coin Royal Mint designers must think carefully about the story their design is telling and how their art will work in three dimensions.
In this workshop pupils will follow a design brief to create their own coin design and translate that into a 3D model.

Further activity
To continue the exercise you could ask pupils to play the part of the Royal Mint Advisory Committee. Pupils could form a committee to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each piece and choose their favourite design.
