The Museum team has reached a major four figure milestone in our Reminiscence Box Project.

We have despatched our 1,000th Reminiscence Box! It has been sent to Harper Fields Care Home in Coventry, who have loaned all previous collections of our Reminiscence Boxes. To celebrate, we sent them a purple box of biscuits, Yorkshire Gold tea, chocolate coins and bunting. We hope they enjoy their celebratory tea party and reminiscence session!

Two and a half years since the project began, our boxes have reached tens of thousands of people in the care sector. We are pleased to have been able to share part of our collection with so many wonderful residents and staff across the United Kingdom.

Museum Director Dr Kevin Clancy said, “Reaching a milestone of 1,000 loans is a wonderful achievement, and we look forward to offering the opportunity to even more care settings in the future. Many thanks to the other museums who have worked with us on this project.”

Thank you to everyone who has loaned a box, spread the word or supported our project.

Check out the map below to see the locations of all 1,000 loans.
