The Royal Mint Museum has a collection of over 10,000 photographs and negatives, chiefly dating back to the beginning of the 20th century. They feature minting processes and equipment, designs for coins and medals, and in particular there is a comprehensive record of the building of the new Royal Mint at Llantrisant in 1967 and 1968. The collection also includes sets of postcards that were sold to visitors to the Royal Mint in the first half of the 20th century.
An attempt is being made to acquire films that include footage of the Royal Mint, the earliest so far being a film of 1910.
